Your right George those bows just felt great very good classics. The chaparral was really a great bow and was really beautiful black and tan with white overlays real sharp sold for good money also and another shooter. I think I may have had them on the wall first with no interest then put them on the other site and they moved. You will find them on the gang sometimes FS. I sold 2 slim lines on the gang last year and got good money for them they shot very well and loved them. Most folks really like the feel of the bow.I am the odd one. The handle is a bit to forward for my liking.

I've owned several of the Red Wing Pro bows over the years so I am very familiar with them. George, Bow # 7 in your photo looks very similar in profile. Those companies usually made changes three months out, so the 69 catalog was probably based on the fall of 68's bows. All the ones I have seen were marked AMF. THunt, Wing could have had them out in 1969 after the catalog was issued.and they probably did. First name was Cliff! I just sold the thing about a year ago. Can't remember his last name but he was from AZ. I'm telling ya George, Mine was a head ski! I bought from a guy on here. You can see there target bows were really trimmed down in 1969.and even got slimmer in the 70's, when they introduced the Red Wing and Vantage Pro. No slim lines there.īill Stewart was part of Wing at that time and was in on desiging the slim line series. They're 70's products and great shooters from my experience. I asked Rob about the bow and the most he could tell me was it was made in either 68 or 69. The one I owned was head ski! The AMF had brown WOOD overlays. The red wing slimline pro came out in 68 when it was Head ski. Then last week I was browsing ebay and a couple showed up and got me curious. I had seen plenty of Red Wing Hunters, and owned one, but was unfamiliar with the Red Wing Pro Slim Line. I'm sure I'm missing a few but they are great shooters and usually very affordable on the big auction.Ĭan't add much.

The Slim Line series went into the target line as well with the metal riser Competition recurves, and the Master and International target bows. I believe they were introduced around 1971 or 72. Actually, they show up frequently on Ebay.about every other month. They made the Red Wing Pro, and Vantage Pro in hunter models, and they are both very good bows. I believe the Slim Line didn't show up until after AMF owned the company. The ones made when it was head ski has a better (slimmer) grip and shoots a little better IMO. One of the best shooters I ever had and wish I still did. I don't see these for sale too often, so I was wondering when they were made, how many are out there, shooting charactistics, etc. What do you know about these? I've looked at a couple on the big auction site, and like the profile and the looks of the grip.
